Q: Why did you create this network?
A: I created this network because, while there are many sites geared
towards interracial dating, I have seen none specifically catering to
black women and men who seek to interracially date black women. This
network filters out the the ABB (Anything But Black) and OBM (Only
Black Men) profiles that daters often have to sift through on such
sites.
Q: So how much money do you make on this?
A: Absolutely none. I work, attend my graduate classes, and try to limit the time spent on this site to my spare time (it's not working), but I receive absolutely no income from operating this network.
Q: How can you afford to advertise?
A: I can't. This is why I am relying on everyone who enjoys using the network to tell all their single friends (provided they are black women and men seeking to interracially date black women) about it, and to post on any message board, discussion forum, blog, etc where they think interested parties might see it.
Q: What's wrong with black men and white/non-black women?
A: Nothing at all. However having members belonging to these groups would defeat the entire purpose of this network.
Q: Why are you so picky about the profiles?
A: I'm not picky, I'm careful. I don't want spammers on the site nor do I want people who aren't serious about connecting with someone else. This site was inspired by a blog but intended for those who are ready to take the next step and start meeting people. People who desire to stay in the shadows, watching but never interacting or revealing themselves, should stick with blog reading. I am trying to avoid a network that looks like this:

Q: Why is your name NingMomma?
A. Because this site is hosted by 'Ning' and 'Momma' is a bit of an inside joke. I have no affiliation whatsoever with Ning other than that I am using their free network building service.
Q: May I call you Ning? How about Momma?
A: No and no. It's NingMomma.
Q: Why is the site called Ning?
A: That is a good question for the people who created Ning. I created this network which is hosted on Ning but I had nothing to do with the site creation or design, nor do I influence site features or functionality.
Q: Why aren't you using the service to find a date?
A: Because,"Hi! I just approved your profile and I wanted to say, 'You are HOT,'*" seems creepy.
*I would never leave a comment like that.
Q: Why can't I privately communicate with another member?
You can as long as they are in your friends list. The owners of Ning believe it is an "invasion of your privacy" for strangers to be able to send you a message, so you have to be added as a friend first. So once someone has added you as a friend, send her/him an email message by:
1.Going to their profile and clicking on send a message.

2.Going to the 'My Friends' section on your page and clicking 'send message to friends'.

Q: How can I tell if someone has sent me a message?
A: Look at the top of the screen. It will say 'new' by the envelope if you have mail. You can review your sent messages this way also.

Q: Can you read my private messages?
A: No, and I wouldn't want to. But please don't violate the terms of use in any correspondence you send to other members. I take complaints seriously.
Q: Are you on WM BW Dating Out 24/7?
A: No, it just looks (and seems) like it. I usually just don't bother logging out.
Q: What if I have more questions?
A: If they are technical ones about Ning, try going here first: http://help.ning.com/. If it's specifically about WM BW Dating Out, then send me an email.
